Launch: Bloc for Moustache

A few years ago, we received a remarkable email from Moustache a French publishing house by Stéphane Arriubergé and Massimiliano iorio – remarkable because it was a long email in which they explained why, in their view, we were the right people to take on the next design, based on the same material and technique as the ‘Bold’ chair. The clarity of their reasoning and the effort they had put into sending such an invitation were fantastic and exceptional.
 
As far as I can remember, it took about a year and a half before anything came of it, but when it did, it was immediately clear. A one-piece comfortable gesture – a metal internal frame was no longer needed.
 
‘Bloc’ is a single volume that consists out of 9 parts or 10 if you include the bottom. The foam shape is upholstered with four beautiful fabrics from Kvadrat and Gabriel, the seams emphasize the form.
 
It has taken us a considerable amount of time and effort to produce it as envisioned but now, we’re there and are delighted to announce that ‘Bloc’ will be launched on Friday 11 September at the new showroom of Moustache in Paris.
