Friends Editions: New work by Tim Enthoven
In our webshop we have a special segment for frieends: artists, designers, architects or colleagues we follow and admire. We are proud to present a new etching by Tim Enthoven, made especially for Friends Editions.
A stack of interlocked biting kooikerhondjes -a typical Dutch dog bred for duck hunting and featured in many 17th-century oil paintings- forms a gate design.
This work is part of an ongoing series of etchings and watercolors in which Enthoven uses companion animals as building blocks for objects that cannot be executed.
The work is an etching printed by Eric Levert in black ink on paper, with whom Enthoven has collaborated for a number of years. Each print is hand-colored by Enthoven using yellow iron oxide and cadmium red watercolor.
