Forms Bring Forth
We are delighted to invite you to visit Forms Bring Forth, a duo exhibition by Aldo Bakker and Quanbin Dong, curated by Ching-ling Wang, on view in NIO House Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
In Plato’s philosophy, the concept of “Form” represents the eternal, unchanging essence behind all things—perfect and pure. Unlike the ever-shifting physical world we perceive with our senses, true knowledge can only be attained by grasping these ideal forms. Nature, as a bridge between the material and the ideal, inspires human imagination and becomes a metaphor for transformation in art.
Within this space where perception and imagination intersect, the works of Aldo Bakker (b.1971, NL) and Quanbin Dong (b. 1976, CN) quietly engage in dialogue. Though from different cultural backgrounds, both artists share a deep resonance in their pursuit of form and spirit. Drawing inspiration from the subtle harmony of nature and everyday life, they respond to the origins of form through their refined use of material and structure. Forms Bring Forth presents a sensory and spiritual duet that transcends language and geography, inviting viewers to rediscover the quiet power of transformation hidden within stillness. Through a slow, contemplative approach, their work offers a glimpse into the essence of art itself.
