Tri available at Studio Editions
We are proud to announce that the latest addition to studio editions is Tri, now available online.
Like a bridge, the spout is connected to the container by a long horizontal lid.
Together they form a triangle, concealing its true function.
This function is revealed when you remove the lid: It pours.
Holding the bold container automatically gives a sense it needs to be lifted and tilted.
At rest, it is also the spout that holds the liquid.
In the V-shaped pourer the liquid rests divided between the two stems.
This design, now called Tri once began at Georg Jensen as Oil Pipe in cast steel.
I was pleased by the look and proportions, except that it was unstable, over time this began to prevail.
After a printed version in steel, we made another attempt to mill it out of stone before finally opting for porcelain made by Studio Zand.
This new, larger, and wider, version comes in a warm olive brown color.
